Pancreatic ß Cell Dedifferentiation as a Mechanism of Diabetic ß Cell Failure

New published article for Dr. Accili & co-author Chutima Talchai, Ph.D.
Thursday, September 13, 2012 - Friday, September 28, 2012

In this latest Cell journal (Volume 150, Issue 6, 1223-1234, 14 September 2012), Domenico Accili and co-author Chutima Talchai, Ph.D., challenge a prevalent view that pancreatic ß cells undergo apoptosis in conditions that induce diabetes, suggesting instead that dedifferentiation is a major mechanism of ß cell loss.

Here is a summary of the full Cell article, and please view the short PaperFlick of Dr. Accili discussing this research.
